This is the discovery over the week of the basics of flight, with the latest equipment.

At your own pace, you shall improve, from the school slope to the first flight. You will always be checked by 2 certified instructors.

The initiation starts with the acquisition of the body movements on the ground thanks to different adapted practical exercises. Theoretical knowledge will also be taught so that you may control all the parameters during your first flight.

The first steps

The course takes place from monday till friday (5 half days), only in the morning because the air is sufficiently calm for beginners.

The first 2 or 3 days are spent on the beginner's slope, where, as its name indicates, beginners can progressively master preparing the wing, inflating it, letting it rise above their heads, beginning to pilot it while staying safely on the ground, and finally allowing it to return to the ground, all of this without actually taking off.

Be patient... you'll get there. Later on in the sequence of the exercises, you will actually get airborne from time to time, although not more than a few metres off the ground. You'll see, it will be enough to give you your first unforgettable impressions of free flight.

The beginner's slope is the most physically demanding part of the course, and the many times you'll be trodding up and running down the slope are necessary to understand and master the different moves that will allow you to make your glider rise, take off, fly and land safely and comfortably.

Le grand vol

Oh yes! No doubt about it, the day you first fly on your own is a day filled with joy and memories. Those first flights also begin at Super Morzine, 600 metres above the landing site, an instructor will guide you while taking off, another will guide you while landing. To get the most from these unforgettable moments, you'll take off with a radio strapped across your heart, and you'll be gently guided throughout the flight by familiar voices. You'll be on your own, under your wing in the air, but not lost!!!!!!!!!!!!! We envy you for your first flight, it only happens once, and ours was a long time ago. The goal of this course is essentially to guide you to your first flight, we can't guarantee a number of flights since we depend on the weather conditions so you may end up making from 0 to X flights during this course.

This progression (advanced) course is the additional step of the cycle 1 of the FFVL formation. A complete formula to become a certified FFVL pilot

Working steadily towards autonomy, all phases of flight are practised and rehearsed: approach, landing precision etc... Then your dependance on the radio will diminish, especially in calm air, and at the school site which by now becomes familiar. You're ready to try different kinds of gliders, and discover different sites. And you will.

Advanced course

New launch techniques are studied, flights become longer, different aerological conditions are encountered. Together we'll try to augment and optimise your flights, to learn to use thermals to climb, to do transitions and use instruments.
